“Publicar como práctica…” is a research project that stems from my work as a publishing artist, my reflection on it, and my observation of this scene and its local development. The idea arose from my desire to install and deepen the reflection about publications in Chile and also, above all, to make a publication about publications.

The book PUBLICAR, the words printed inside and the graphic pieces that surround it -main source of the contents of the research and made by the collaborators Javiera Barrientos, Fernando Pérez Villalón, Casa en Blanco, Otra Sinceridad, Sandra Marín, Naranja Publicaciones and Impresionante, under the design of Adrián Quezada-, arise from these desires and from the awareness that every day, every moment, countless publications are made all over the world both in the sense of “publishing as sharing” and “making an audience”. And each of these is in itself an attempt to answer the questions: what are publications and what is publishing?
