Müde Bücher | Albert Coers
Müde Bücher [Tired Books] is the name of a series of photographs taken by Albert Coers in 2009. Each photograph shows a book with a deformed cover; literally with a bent spine. These are books that have not only been read, but also used, second-hand or, failing that, thrown away. Coers previously used them for one of his sculptures. In fact, they were used as part of a book architecture; like stacked bricks, where their functions were purely structural. That is why they obtained this tired appearance. This book is a mixture of catalog, documentation and artist’s book, where Coers shows us through a clear and orderly photograph, the state of these used books.
