Double Book developed after finishing the series of works  Ejercicios de Estilo (Exercises of Style) for this purpose the book of Raymond Queneau was disassembled and each of its pages was wrinkled and photographed using images in the developing of twenty works produced between the years 2014 and 2015.

This publication includes an Artists’ Book which compiles those series of works in embroidered felt, paper and photography and another with the reaction shown in the productive process, the result is an edition of 99 double books, making reference to the 99 literary exercises of Queneau. The first 12 numbers are accompanied by one artwork, a printed digital collage: ‘Ejercicios de estilo. Ignorante’

About the author

Monica Bengoa (1969, Santiago, Chile) is a Chilean visual artist, whose artistic research has established a working process, around the problem of the material expansion of the everyday life, using transference strategies of photographical images to great murals, by manual means. In this manner, she has established material interchange bridges with other media and supports, employing formal strategies coming from drawing and painting, including the use of objects.
