This publication by Fernanda Aránguiz M., which is part of our colección personal, is connected to Curated Table #008: Appropriations. Here is some information about the book.
- La Nada o el Infinito by Fernanda Aránguiz M. is one of the first artists’ books we produced at Naranja Publicaciones.
- The work arose from the artist’s encounter with a copy of the 1958 book “La Nada o el Infinito” (Nothingness or Infinity) by Chilean writer José Manuel Aldunate Undurraga.
- Starting from the title of the found book, the artist formulated strategies to translate the concepts of nothingness and infinity into material form.
- Nothingness is translated from the erasure of the texts, while infinity is translated from the disassembly of the book and reconfiguration in a leporello format.
- So far, Naranja has produced three editions of this piece.
