Le dejeuner sur l’herbe (Lunch on the grass) is a publication by Guillermo Núñez, produced in 1990, in which the artist makes a poetic reconstruction of the painting of the same name by Édouard Manet.

Each of the silkscreens translates the fragments of the poem into images, moving away from the visuality of the original work to approach Núñez’s characteristic strokes.

Edition of 50 numbered and signed copies.

Guillermo Núñez (1930-2024) Santiago de Chile. Chilean visual artist. National Visual Arts Award 2007.

A multifaceted artist, throughout his career he devoted himself to different areas of creation, seeking points of encounter and integration of disciplines. He developed paintings, engravings, serigraphs, photo-serigraphs, installations, artist’s books and object art, with themes that refer to historical events, wars, disputes and personal experiences, which show and denounce violence and human destruction.
