Réplica feliz del edén | Various authors
Réplica feliz del edén (Happy replica of Eden) this is the first zine of Naranja Publicaciones created by Sebastian Arancibia and Sebastian Barrante and the Chilean illustrator Camila Paz. The edition arises from our participation in “Replica Station” (Estación Replica) space- organized by Sandra Marin from the publishing house ”Estudio Repisa” – specially created to design, edit and print fanzines during three days in the hall of Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes.
This editorial event was related to “Bienal de Artes Mediales” developed in the same museum and that in the year 2017 dealt with the concept of “temblor” (earthquake).
For this edition, Naranja took the concept of “réplica” (replica) as a synonym of reproduction or copy to referentially work with the painting “The huaso and the laundress” (El huaso y la lavandera) present in the permanent collection of Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes. For this purpose, the image of the painting was deconstructed and the different objects present in it were transferred to each page of the book.
At the same time, a repetitive story related to the sentence of the Chilean National Anthem: “Happy copy of Eden” in which the word “copia” (copy) was replaced by “réplica” and it was transcribed in a typewriter to each of the pages, surrounding the present objects.
For this edition, Naranja Publicaciones worked with the illustrator Camila Paz.
