The Minga of the Birds at the Dawn | Daniel Godínez Nivón – Andrés González
The Minga of the Birds of the Dawn is a text written by Andrés González inspired by conversations he had with artist Daniel Godínez Nivón during his residency at the Jan van Eyck Academie (2021-2022) in Maastricht. Just like a dream that becomes part of the world, this publication was materialised by Good Neighbour in the context of the artist’s exhibitions at Kasteel Wijlre Estate (Maastricht) and at Manifold Books (Amsterdam) in 2023.
The publication consists of two parts: an A3 print and a separate round-shaped edition. The edition includes some suggestions for dream exercises written by Daniel Godínez Nivón and an image part drawn from the project Essay on Oneiric Flora, 2020, a botanical study of plants found in dreams by the teenage girls of Casa Hogar Yolia from Mexico City.
